@tariqk there are different kinds of power. Influence, coercion, autority, violence, etc. so everyone can be racist and suffer from racism because those kind of powers are accesible to almost everyone

I don't get threatened with rape. I can state, unequivocally, that I am at man, and no one will assume I am mentally ill, or find it necessary to subject me to surgery.

Most interestingly, no one can make people do these things to me, without extraordinary effort.

Some forms of power are more effective, require less effort, are subject to less accountability, and are less accessible than others.

@tariqk I'm sorry but you can't narrow down the concepts when someone provide you a reasonable counter argument racism: prejudice + power. and yes rape is a serious issue but it's a crime like killing, i don't receive rape threats either, i'm sure i'm more likely to be raped than a men, but a man is more likely to be killed

men get killed, but not because they are men. they are killed as peers.

women, too, are killed. but not as peers.

queer people, too, are killed. but not as peers. trans people, the same.

you'll notice that the numbers are there, and if you correct for total in populations? women, queer people and trans people suffer a disproportionate amount more.

@tariqk when boko haram or the islamic state goes to a city, they kill the men, just because they're men. The women get to live. The same happens with the guerrillas in south america. The same happens in a hostile situation and it doesn't matter WHY you're being killed, a life is a life. a queer person is just as dead as a men and a woman if they're killed. All lifes are precious.

Both Da'esh and Boko Haram kill the men and the boys of their captured territories NOT because they are men, but because they belong to religious groups that both Boko Haram and Da'esh slaughter. As a matter of fact, both groups share the same strand of takfiri Salafism that say that, because Muslims that oppose them are “kuffar”, it is permissible to kill and enslave them.

@FlaviaRini there have been moments in my life where I have listened, in absolute horror, of the violence subjected to women and queer people that are not only difficult to accept, but difficult to comprehend.

I don't have a tenth of what they're experiencing. I cannot believe that this is something that needs to be disputed.
