Ok… I am trying to work on a 19th century german academic paper with #OCRfeeder and #Cuneiform. Let’s see what I can get.
I mean, it does do a basically ok job for the german part (Good point though for recognizing the ß, it was a problem when I tried some yrs ago), but when it comes to footnotes anchors, specialized abbreviations, some symbols, italic texts, and also Latin and Greek quotes, it kinda completely fall off track…
Argh! I did not realized there was some “ſ” in that text, and those Cuneiform fail to recognize, sometimes it reads an “f”, sometimes an “l”…
Seriously, germans, why would you use so many variant of “s”? 😐
Seems to work, more or less. Better than my worst expectation anyway.
Now, does it worth the time to ocr all that, correct the ocr and put through a translator, or should I simply refresh my German?
