.@Framasoft's crowdfunding for has just passed 100%, so it will definitely get funding 🎉 👏 🍾

There's still 12 days to go, so the appeal is going for a stretch goal to add even more features 😎

Well done everyone! 👍

@Levenfort

It's still being worked on (that's why they are crowdfunding), have you let the developers know about wanting Palemoon compatibility?

@switchingsocial No, it's nothing special or an illness like #Edge, only a fork based on the old, stable #Firefox without the not needed overhead.

@Levenfort @switchingsocial What do you mean by overhead?

Did you know that old XUL addons have complete access to all your browsing data at all times and you can't do a thing about it? It's the reason Firefox moved to Chromium like extensions model (though not exactly same) where extensions are not allowed to do or access anything that is not permitted by browser.

If you value privacy and security I recommend moving up *stable* Firefox.

@Levenfort @switchingsocial If you want, you can also have a look at Waterfox, which is also based on the old Firefox.

Of course, full peer-to-peer PeerTube support confirmed.

@mareklach @switchingsocial Thanks for the hint. Yes, looks nice, but I don't get it to work in a normal way (means: I click it and it'll starts without any handicaps).

@Levenfort @switchingsocial Hmm... that’s odd, works just fine on my end. Maybe try a different PC too, so you can figure out where the problem lies?

@mareklach @switchingsocial I can start it with sudo in the terminal. But when I start it as normal user, it will create a profile but cannot write where it want to and when I assign it to a new directory it forget this at the next start and want to create a new profile again … Yes I'm not the Linux expert and when it's not a deb package I run in difficulties ;-)

@Levenfort @switchingsocial If you are on Linux, then the obvious choice for a Firefox mutation would be GNU IceCat in my opinion anyway.

@Levenfort @switchingsocial Btw, not a Linux expert myself anyway, but installing from the official Debian repositories should I presume automatically assign the correct package permissions to a package that you install through there...

@Levenfort @switchingsocial @Framasoft

... or you could support fixing it, so it *does* work on PaleMoon.

It's a small #opensource / #foss project in it's alpha phase, largely created by one person. Bugs should be expected. I doubt very much this is by design. Also, can you be sure this is a #PeerTube isue and not a #PaleMoon one?

@Blort @switchingsocial @Framasoft Sorry for the german part, it was not an answer to you, as a ironic reference in another discussion ;-)

@Blort @switchingsocial @Framasoft I'm a great #OpenSource / #FOSS supporter and do my very best in helping where I can, but sometimes my power left me, when there are needless handicaps like a Browser Switch or whatever is responsible for this behavior.

@Levenfort @switchingsocial @Framasoft

I can understand that. I'd just like to see both #PeerTube and #PaleMoon succeed! 😁

@Levenfort it's rather the other way around. Palemoon not supporting PeerTube is not even due to their lack of WebRTC support, because PeerTube has proper HTTP streaming fallback. Apparently this is just PM interpreting JS incorrectly.

Anyway, Basilisk seems to work.
@switchingsocial

@Levenfort @switchingsocial @Framasoft Just tested a PeerTube instance on the OSX build of PaleMoon, and as of today, it seems to be working just fine for me?

@Levenfort @switchingsocial @Framasoft Further testing confirmed that PeerTube currently works even in the Otter Browser through this is via the HTTP fallback method, rather than torrent.
