Hmm... the logo at the top of switching.social looks quite bare ๐Ÿ˜•

Maybe it should have an illustration to make it a bit more friendly? :blobderpy:

Any ideas or suggestions? Perhaps there should be a mascot of some kind? ๐Ÿถ

@switchingsocial I think it looks quite nice as-is, the aesthetic is clean and text-oriented, so I vote "no" on adding a mascot.

It could use a little graphical something though, like a fancy underline or some flourishes on the sides, but I don't think it needs any more than that.

@eishiya @RussSharek

Ok, seems like there's a consensus on the replies to just keep the clean look :)

How about a small, very simple line-drawn mascot/logo, almost like a rough doodle on a notepad?

(The original idea of the site was to look like a hand-drawn poster on a noticeboard.)

@switchingsocial

If it doesn't serve a real purpose I'd say skip it. Wait until you have the right idea for a logo, then implement it.

Don't simply fill the space because you think you're supposed to...after all, this is about choice.

@eishiya

@RussSharek

Ok, I'll keep it to the minimum required. It is meant to be a site that is as calm and unbusy as possible. That's helpful feedback, thank you ๐Ÿ‘

@switchingsocial
Happy to help, you're creating a terrific and needed resource

@switchingsocial Could work, though I don't think that a dedicated logo is even necessary.
Here are a couple of quick illustrations of what I was imagining. Very minimal. I think pictorial elements would feel out of place.

@eishiya

Ok, thanks! I think you're right, less is more on this particular site.

Also thank you for the mockups, I'll see how they look ๐Ÿ‘

@switchingsocial

Please keep your site simple and direct. In these days of everything being in your face and overwhelming, it's nice to see the alternative bravely using simple design and open space.

@switchingsocial I like it as is TBH. maybe a light bulb on top of the I?

@Magess @switchingsocial

Fits the theme too. Maybe work the whole i into the bulb?

Although the effect might be somewhat lost after being scaled down to a square av
